Busy, Busy, Busy

Have you ever asked someone the typical greeting questions like “What’s up?” or “How’s it going?” and the person you asked replied with “I’m bored!” or “I have absolutely nothing to do!”?  Me either!  These days everyone seems to reply with “I’m Busy”, or “I’m overwhelmed”, or “I’m going 100 mph!”  Simply put, we live in a microwave, full-speed, get-er-done quick, no wait, fast pace, finish-it-today world that keeps us very busy.

I just finished preaching a revival in Clintwood, VA and the theme was “Coming Alive”.  It hit me on the last evening there that all the points I was making were about pursing, fleeing, coming alive, doing, and moving…makes you tired just reading it!  All of these words are necessary in our Christian life, but let’s not leave out the aspect of “being still” or “abiding” that are equally important.  Balance is the key…Psalm 143:10!
